Charles Pons Aimar, Jr. was born in Charleston in 1873. His father and uncle owned the Aimar Drug Company. He graduated from the Medical College of the State of South Carolina in 1894, and became an intern at the St. Francis Xavier Infirmary. At the same time, Dr. Aimar also provided his services to the Plant System of Rail Ways Relief and Hospital Department (which later merged with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company).
